No. Our philosophy is that the car line should be seamless for parents. They simply hang their physical car tag from their rearview mirror. Your staff enters the number into the scanner view, and the system handles the rest.
Your Admin Portal includes an automated CSV upload tool. You can easily export your student list from your Student Information System (like Skyward, PowerSchool, or Frontline) and upload it directly into EdComp. Your CSV simply needs four columns: First Name, Last Name, Grade, and Primary Guardian. The system automatically groups siblings and assigns car tag numbers for you behind the scenes, eliminating any manual setup!
The Office Dashboard includes a "One-Day Rider" tool. If a student is riding home with a friend, the front office simply links their profile to the friend's car tag for the day. When the scanner enters that tag outside, the teacher's classroom board will clearly flag the student as a temporary rider for that specific vehicle.
Yes! Your Admin Portal comes with a free Car Tag Generator. It automatically groups siblings together and formats your entire roster into a printable 8.5x11 PDF. You can print them yourself, or you can utilize our Premium Printing service to have them professionally manufactured and shipped to your school.
Yes! Every campus runs differently. Through your Admin Portal, you can easily configure the exact number of active car lanes you use (up to 8) and rename staff role titles to match your school's terminology.
